Paleontology and evolution
Fossils

Paleontology is one way scientists use to prove evolution. Paleontology is the study of the fossils of plants and animals. What are fossils? Fossils are the remains or impression of a prehistoric organism preserved as a mold in rock. So what can scientists use to prove evolution using different fossils? When scientists examine two fossils from different time periods they look at how the shape of some creatures have changed through time. Paleontologists use similar characteristics found from any species to trace common ancestry. The type of evidence we know of now are transitional fossils. Examples of this include a fish turning into a tetra pod and an ape into a human.
Human fossils. How has scientists used these to prove their well known theory, evolution? many people who believe in evolution used to think that there was a single line of human species and we all evolved from that line. Scientists have found that humans came from different species and that this caused diversity. Examples scientists found include different ape skulls found that resemble human skulls. Lucy was the name of the skeleton a man found. That skeleton was one of an ape that had a few traits in common with humans today. Paleontology is one of the most used study to "prove" evolution.

Geographical Distribution
Geographical distribution is the natural arrangements of animals and plants in particular regions or districts. So what does this have to do with evolution? First let me explain what geographic distribution is supposed to prove. Evolutionists believe that the distribution if plants and animals worldwide is caused by changing plants and animals. In simpler terms many wonder why certain plants and animals only exist in certain areas and not anywhere else. To answer this question scientists use geographical distribution to prove the theory of evolution. An example of this is how many years before humans existed kangaroos, koalas, and other animals lived in Australia while in other parts of the world different animals thrived.
Adaptation
Adaptation is the a change in a plant or animal that makes it better fit to live and reproduce in its current environment. Adaptation is the main way any evolutionist would think of first when explaining their beliefs. Animals and plants can adapt to their environment through natural selection. What is natural selection? Natural selection is a process where some individuals have genetically-based traits that improve survival or reproduction and and thus have more offspring surviving to reproductive age than other individuals. Basically what happens is that as humans evolved we learned to adapt to Earth's conditions now. An example of adaptation is the mimicry of leaves. Insects learn to do so and camouflage with their environment. Charles Darwin the man known for evolution came up with the idea of natural selection based on observations of finches on the island.
